out of curiousity why are we diving so late on sunday, tides?
what time have we got to be out of the hotel rooms on sunday?

i`ve checked out of room 10.30am any chance of stashing my gear and blagging a shower from someone`s room please

Yes check out time is 10.30
and there are showers in the dive centre.
I am confused about 'stashing your gear'.
Suitcases can be left at the Hotel or put them in your car.
The Dive times have to take into consideration the boat leaving the harbour (tidal).

You can leave your dive gear at the centre on Satuday night.

ok shelia thanks for that

Does anyone have any contingency plans if weather pants? If totally blown out, what's the situ with regards to hotel-do we still have to pay? Just thinking about options!

Hi Sheilab,
"Stashing ones gear", is the vernacular for, "Please will you hide my drugs", I hope that clears up any confusion. ;o)

Tracey,
Answer is don't know. If it is called off I will ring the hotel and find out how we stand. Don't want to give them too much time to think about the possibility.

If the Dive Centre calls it we get a refund.

Hi Sheila,
Sorry, I was just a bit bored at work. Syrup and figs, very hedonistic!!
With regard to the pants weather forecast, I'm happy to go with the flow. Some shore dives on the Saturday would be a good call. I'm not booked in to the hotel on the Sunday. I see that the ideal time to dive Selsey "pier" on 6th July is 17:49, so I might do that on the way home, anyone else? The above only applies if we get blown out of course.

Blimey....I turn my back for a few minutes and the comments go into overdrive ... what's with this wig hiding malarchy (stashing syrups!) ? And what IS it about the UK weather that's so got it in for diving! We'll still make the journey 'cos we are spending a few days in Devon on the way back. Hmmm, Looe, or Cornwall for that matter, touch of deja vu here, I've spent many a unhappy day cursing the Cornish weather! Won't make Selsey Pier though!

I think myself and Laura will still go. If there is any shore diving i could have my arm twisted! The met office are forecasting 26 mph wind for sat and 23 for sun is this really to much for us to be able to dive? Surly we aren't going out in a rowing boat!!

Hi Steve
Unfortunately its the Dive centre and boat skippers call. A 23mph southerly wind would mke a trip on a boat very uncomfortable also dangerous to get back on board and if you are coming up on SMB this can be hard to spot with big waves so its purely for safety. Wish we could control the weather.
