Extreme Underwater Ironing

Anyone up for some household chores?
I'm thinking about going.

"On the 10th January 2009 the National Diving & Activity Centre and Yorkshire Divers will be hosting a Guinness World Record Extreme Ironing Event. You are invited to take part in this event and raise money For the RNLI; a charity providing 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The sport that is 'extreme ironing' is an outdoor activity that combines the danger and excitement of an 'extreme' sport with the satisfaction of a well pressed shirt. It involves taking an iron and board to remote locations and ironing a few items of laundry. Our Guinness World Record attempt will be for the most number of divers underwater ironing at the same time.

The present record is currently held at 72 by an Australian group - we think that you can do better than that, so here is your opportunity to join in!"

I am daft enough to do this, nothing better than beating Australians, at anything. Unfortunately that day is my father's birthday, so I'll be taking him out for lunch. Will bring a couple of shirts with stubborn creases to the Christmas do, thanks! Oh and £10 for the RNLI.

Jimbob - I agree with Simon , we need to beat the Aussies! The problem as I see it is that I think the Oz waters are warmer and clearer than ours - so when the struggle for extreme ironing glory escalates we have a major hurdle to overcome . Methinks a Jan 10th dive is 'sporting' in that location - should be cool to say the least! Has every diver got to have an ironing board? Quick answer while the Wollies sale is on!

Er , That was meant to be Woollies . as opposed to Wallies! Or anything else!

If I can borrow the appropriate gear I could be up for this and after spending a week in the Navy
Ironing seven creases in my number ones I am pretty good at this.
